PARTIES WHO PASS THE PEOPLE'S VOTE TEST

Change UK

Change UK – The Independent Group is backing a People's Vote. Its manifesto for these elections says "we want a People’s Vote and we want to remain in the European Union". They pass the People’s Vote Test.

Labour

Labour is backing a People's Vote on the Government's Brexit deal. Its manifesto for these elections says the party will seek an alternative Brexit deal or a general election, but failing that, it will "back the option of a public vote".

Given there is no deal on the table other than the Government's deal, the party will have little option but to give the public the final say. This mealy-mouthed wording risks demoralising activists but they scrape a pass.

Liberal Democrats

The Liberal Democrats are backing a People's Vote. Their manifesto for these elections says "we can stop Brexit through a People’s Vote." They pass the People’s Vote Test.

SNP

The Scottish National Party are backing a People's Vote. Their manifesto has not yet been published but they have consistently said they will be campaigning for a People’s Vote. They pass the People’s Vote Test.

Scottish Greens
